Our nursery in Hillington is very proud to be a Scottish Nursery Awards finalist in the categories of Individual Nursery of the Year and Outstanding Parent Engagement.
Puddle Lane’s welcoming environment, dedicated team and amazing families have all been recognised by the Scottish Nursery Awards. The entire staff team believe it is a privilege to be part of each child’s journey and to watch them grow. We recognise it takes a village to raise a child and the people and experiences that surround each child help shape their confidence. By working together, our staff team and families can create a space where children can thrive. It is an honour to receive recognition and to share this achievement with our staff, families and of course, the children who truly bring Puddle Lane to life.
Puddle Lane prides itself on being a modern nursery with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for children to play, learn and grow. There are three playrooms, a dedicated dining room, soft play, a large garden and private allotment. Learning through play is the priority, with the environment and staff working together to help babies, toddlers and young children thrive and one day feel ready for school. To have our nursery in Hillington acknowledged is uplifting as we do strive to ensure it is a happy place to spend time.
The ambition of the nursery to support each child’s unique development is led by Nursery Manager, Lisa. She is determined to deliver excellence in childcare, staff team development and each family’s experience. Lisa has over 21 years of experience in Early Years with an Undergraduate Degree in Childhood Practice and a Postgraduate Degree in Child Protection. She shapes the routine in line with ‘Curriculum for Excellence’ and ‘Realising the Ambition’, supporting improvement and quality. Everyone at Puddle Lane understands the purpose is to work together to provide a fun, safe and educational environment to help little ones learn and thrive.
Puddle Lane proactively works alongside parents to support early education. Parents can get involved in their child’s play and learning through regular stay-and-play family sessions. The interactive playdates give families a glimpse into a day at nursery, while enjoying quality time together. Children introduce their families to their nursery friends and show adults their favourite activities. Parents see first-hand their child’s individual interests.
Furthermore, parents receive daily updates through the online Seesaw app, which consistently keep families informed about day-to-day activities. Parents have full access to their child’s progress and the digital log helps track development. The transparent communication and meaningful parent opportunities reassure parents their child is safe and happy, instilling confidence in the care provided by Puddle Lane.
The biggest accolade we could ask for is the smiles on little ones’ faces when they walk through the door. Knowing that children love being at Puddle Lane and that families see the joy and care we provide makes all of our efforts truly worthwhile.
